Two-wheeling it: Eco-friendly bike transit system
Paris is the latest European city to launch an "eco-friendly" bicycle rental service, where you can rent a bike to get around town from rental stations that appear every 330 yards. There are day, weekly, and yearly passes. I wonder if something like this would work in some U.S. cities and towns (especially the non-hilly ones, like Minneapolis or its suburbs). Or if you could choose from traditional pedal bikes or electric bikes. Maybe you could even get to the stage like the Germans where you can use Bluetooth to pay for the rental from your cell phone...
